All CTECs must complete two hours of ethics as part of the 20-hour continuing education requirement.
This course will cover numerous aspects of Circular 230 as well as changes to the CTEC requirements, and provide insight about common practical applications that come up in the real world of tax practices. Basic obligations such as Due Diligence (and the consequences for failure to delve deep enough), Conflicting Interests, and the potential traps inherent in our profession, as well as the latest priorities from OPR will be addressed.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand and implement the duties and restrictions under Circular 230
- Identify and evalutate situations that create violations of the rules
- Provide tax services while holding to the highest standards of practice
