Changes to Schedule CA delayed

The FTB is not going forward with plans to include lines on Schedule CA requiring information on property taxes deducted as itemized deductions. After receiving feedback from Spidell and others, the FTB has decided to delay the implementation of these changes. (FTB Tax News Flash (November 1, 2011))

These changes will be in effect for the 2012 tax year. For the time being, the FTB will move forward with education and outreach regarding what to expect for 2012, and will direct taxpayers to their website for more information about deductible and non-deductible real estate taxes and the importance of reviewing the real estate tax bill.
