Thursday, December 29, 2011

The FTB announced that it is creating a new temporary identity theft coordinator position to handle the identity theft workload for collection cases and to provide oversight concerning identify theft issues. (FTB Public Service Bulletin 11-26) The identity theft coordinator acts as the point of contact for taxpayers who have questions regarding identity theft. The coordinator reviews and monitors cases to ensure timely and accurate processing. The FTB has also established an identity theft contact within each business area who will handle its department’s identity theft issues.
