Sales and use tax rate increases

These cities will increase their sales and use tax rates beginning April 1, 2008:

  • Ceres (Stanislaus County) from 7.375% to 7.875%;

  • Delano (Kern County) from 7.25% to 8.25%;

  • Hollister (San Benito County) from 7.25% to 8.25%; and

  • Selma (Fresno County) from 7.975% to 8.475%. (California SBE Special Tax Notice L-184)

The tax rates in areas outside these city limits will remain the same. You should verify that your business is located within the city limits before collecting the increased tax rate.
