Combined report and water’s-edge e-filing coming in June

Corporations that file combined reports or water’s-edge returns will be able to e-file their returns with the FTB beginning June 16, 2008.

Corporate taxpayers were allowed to e-file Form 100, California Corporation Franchise or Income Tax Return, for the first time beginning in January 2006. In January 2007, the FTB also added these forms:

Form 565, Partnership Return of Income;
Form 568, Limited Liability Company Return of Income; and
Form 100S, California S Corporation Franchise or Income Tax Return.

Adding combined reporting and Form 100W to their business e-file program makes it possible for the largest and most complex business returns to be e-filed. The IRS already mandates e-filing for many of these returns.

Contact your software providers to see if they are supporting e-filing for combined reports and the Form 100W.
