FTB releases electronic exempt organization list
You no longer have to call the FTB to verify the tax exempt status of an entity. The FTB now posts a list of all California tax-exempt organizations on its Web site at www.ftb.ca.gov/businesses/Exempt_organizations/Entity_list.shtml. The list is available in PDF and Excel formats and contains:

The entity’s name and identification number;
-
City;
-
Exempt section under R&TC §23701;
-
APE; and
-
FTB and SOS status (active or suspended).
The FTB will update the list monthly.
