Lynn Freer, EA — Lynn “Ms. California Tax” Freer works closely with all state tax agencies and is often consulted for input on policy decisions. She always has the inside information on what's happening at the state level because she devotes herself full time to analyzing, writing about, and teaching California tax law. Lynn will also be speaking at Spidell's 2009 Summer Seminar and Spidell's annual Federal and California Update Seminar.

Wayne Otchis, CPA — Wayne Otchis has been a CPA in California since 1971 and is a member of the California Society of CPAs. His practice emphasizes individual tax return preparation and he has prepared over 700 returns annually for approximately 30 years. He is a regular speaker for Spidell Publishing for 10 years and presents the Federal section of Spidell's annual Spidell's annual Federal and California Update Seminar. Wayne will also be speaking at Spidell's 2009 Summer Seminar.

Gina Rodriquez, EA — Gina is the Sacramento editor for Spidell Publishing. Gina works with legislators and tax agency personnel to keep tax professionals informed about legislation and procedures. Gina is the expert on FTB policy and procedures and provides legislative analysis that is available in Spidell's Online Research Package. She has a Bachelor of Science in business administration (accounting) from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master of Science in taxation from Golden Gate University.

Steve Honeyman, CPA — Steve Honeyman specializes in individual returns. In practice for more than 35 years, his firm has averaged more than 750 returns per year. Tim Hilger, CPA — Tim is associate editor of Spidell's California Taxletter® and editor of Spidell’s Analysis & Explanation of California Taxes and Spidell’s Elder Client Planner. Tim presented Spidell’s “Taxation of foreclosures: New laws, old problems” audio conference. He has authored innumerable articles, reports, and self-studies on tax, financial and accounting matters. He has a Bachelor of Science in business administration (accounting) from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Science in taxation from Golden Gate University.

Renée Rodda, J.D.— Renée is editor of Spidell’s California Taxletter® and associate editor of Spidell’s Elder Client Planner newsletter. Renee will also be speaking at Spidell's 2009 Summer Seminar. Renée lectures extensively on tax issues that impact aging Americans. She has authored “Overview of Medicare and Medicaid/Medi-Cal Rules,” as well as self-study courses, including an EA ethics course. She is a graduate of Chapman School of Law with a Tax Law Emphasis. Renee will be speaking at Spidell's annual Federal and California Update Seminar.

Steve Yukelson, CPA — Steve Yukelson is a sole practitioner whose practice emphasizes small business accounting and income tax. Steve will also be speaking at Spidell's 2009 Summer Seminar. Steve was also an instructor at Los Angeles Valley College for 15 years. This will be his 6th year as a speaker for Spidell and presents the Federal section of Spidell's at Spidell's annual Federal and California Update Seminar. Thomas Noce, CPA, CFE — Tom is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in accounting. He holds a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from UC Riverside and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Tom will present the 2009 Practical Accounting Update and Review Seminar. Tom’s professional experience includes a variety of clients, including tribal entities, hotels, real estate, construction, homeowners associations, country clubs, nonprofit organizations and others. In addition to his tax and accounting practice, he also performs special engagements dealing with internal controls and fraud prevention and detection. He has authored and taught numerous accounting, auditing, and fraud courses.

Thad Scott, CPA, CFE, MS — Thad is a sole practitioner whose practice consists largely of audit and accounting services as well as business management consulting and litigation support. Thad will present the 2009 Fraud: Exposures and Solutions in the Non-Audit Environment Seminar. He has assisted outside firms with implementation of professional standards and performs peer reviews. He is qualified as a fraud expert in federal court. He is a respected speaker on accounting issues.
