Spidell Search Help
Please follow these simple rules to maximize the results of your search:
-
The system searches for all variations of a word. For instance, entering tax searches for tax, taxing, taxes, etc. Wildcard characters, such as the asterisk (*) are not supported.
The search does not support Boolean functions such as AND and OR. However, you can include or exclude keywords by using the plus (+) or minus (-) sign in front of the keyword (separated with spaces).
For example, the query FTB inconsistency would return documents containing words FTB and inconsistency while
FTB + inconsistency would return documents containing word FTB and inconsistency.
FTB - inconsistency would return documents containing word FTB and not containing inconsistency.
There is no need to enter + as it is default search mode.
If you need exact match for a phrase enclose it in double quoutes - e.g. "Justice and Due Process" would find all documents containing the phrase and exclude documents containing only Justice
If your search contains + or - characters do not leave spaces around them - e.g. if you search for court case 05-31364 05 - 31364 will not return expected result.
Enter 05-31364 (without spaces) or enclose it in double quotes, e.g. "05-31364" or "05 - 31364".
The search ignores common words such as a, the, for, to, and, it, by etc., as well as single-digit numbers.
The search is not case-sensitive - search for FTB and ftb will return the same results.
