Client is a full time California resident. She receives a K-1 reporting California and Ohio rental income. There is a sizeable subtraction on Schedule CA for the non-California rental income since this is considered nonbusiness income and allocated to the state where the property is located. She is questioning why her California tax is so low. I can’t find any special provision for Ohio income, looking for confirmation that it is being reported correctly.

Ca residents are taxed on all their income, worldwide, so the Ohio income should be reported and taxed on the ca return, take credit on Ca return for ohio tax paid.
