2 of my clients received the above notice indicating that their SS# was used to apply for unemployment benefits and requested my clients’ ID related docs, such as Form I-9, most recent W2 form, or copy of employee photo ID card.
One client is retired with no earned income; the other is a CEO of a closed corporation making a high salary.
Anyone else received similar notice? Would a letter informing EDD that they never applied for Unemployment Benefits suffice? Nobody wants to send in the mail IDs that contain one’s SS#, Photo ID, etc.
