My client, a long time CA resident,  just presented me with two Form 1099-G: one from CA EDD (correct) and one from Massachusetts.  I would assume report both and then back out the MA amount?  Haven’t figured out a way to do this with Lacerte unless I treat the MA UI as “Repaid.”

Or report MA UI amount as Other Income, back out from “Other Income” and attach explanation?

You should only report the UI benefits that were actually received.   See:  https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/identity-theft-and-unemployment-benefits
