High poverty and high unemployment areas for California Competes Tax Credit


The California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development issued a list of high poverty and high unemployment areas applicable to the California Competes Tax Credit. Credit applications may be submitted during the period January 2, 2019, through January 21, 2019.

“High poverty area” means a city and/or county with a poverty rate of at least 150% of the California statewide poverty rate. “High unemployment area” means a city and/or county with an unemployment rate of at least 150% of the California statewide unemployment rate.
