High poverty and high unemployment areas for California Competes Tax Credit


GO-Biz has issued a list of high poverty and high unemployment areas applicable to applications for the California Competes Tax Credit to be submitted during the period July 30, 2018, through August 20, 2018. Economic census data in job creation areas is one of the factors that is evaluated during the application process.

“High poverty area” means a city and/or county with a poverty rate of at least 150% of the California statewide poverty rate. “High unemployment area” means a city and/or county with an unemployment rate of at least 150% of the California statewide unemployment rate.
