The California Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has confirmed that the May 15, 2023, deadline to file Form RRF-01, Annual Registration Renewal, is postponed to October 16, 2023, for those entities that qualify for the storm-related October 16 postponement to file their IRS Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax. The OAG stated that if the entity was granted an extension with the IRS, the extension due date becomes the annual renewal filing’s due date with the OAG’s Registry of Charitable Trusts.
Every charitable nonprofit corporation, unincorporated association or trustee holding assets for charitable purposes that is required to register with the OAG must annually file Form RRF-1.
