SWIFT users may see a message following update

The FTB’s current SWIFT VeriSign certificate is due to expire and the new VeriSign certificate will be installed on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. PST. (FTB e-File News (August 10, 2023)) This means that when a user logs into the SWIFT system after the new certificate has been installed, they may receive a message requiring them to accept the new certificate. Once a user accepts the new certificate, they should not receive any further messages.

VeriSign certificate information that is embedded into an automated file transfer process that uses SWIFT will need to be updated with the new certificate information.

The FTB uses the Secure Web Internet File Transfer (SWIFT) system to transmit and receive confidential information to and from taxpayers and their tax professionals. This system is used by tax professionals to e-file returns and information returns with the FTB that are not currently part of the Combined Federal/State Filing Program.
