A man serving a 70-month sentence for tax fraud has been released into home confinement for the duration of his sentence after testing positive for COVID-19 in prison. Mr. Zukerman pulled out all the stops to avoid paying tax on a $110 million asset sale: lying to his accountant, providing false documents which caused his household employees and family members to file incorrect returns, and making false statements to the IRS. Mr. Zukerman still has a year left of his sentence, but considering his age and health issues, the court agreed to home confinement for the duration. (U.S. v. Zukerman (April 3, 2020) U.S. Dist.
